That’s right! We can’t tell you how many times we’ve been taken advantage of by sly aquatic opportunists right after making the perfect cast to a trophy fish. But it’s all part of the game and always a wild adventure! Moments like this usually end in silly and exhausted laughter for us anglers seeking a perfect union with nature, all be it through hook and line.
We know though, perfect doesn’t exists, not here in this world anyway; but excellence? Well, that does exist in our world. In fact, the eternal search for perfection is excellence, and our time here in this world can be excellent in all the things we do, both big and small, as they are all equally important and valuable.
In fishing, like in life, making mistakes and learning what not to do is the single most important valuable internal asset an individual can have. We mostly value those who know what not to do over those who do. The truth is that if you managed to be unlucky enough to have a day where you made an Official Shit Slam®, well… this is in all reality, a sign of excellence and someone who goes all out to fish.
